Privacy Policy

Mission Viejo Residents Directory is a small private reference to public-record custodians and local history sources. This policy explains what the site may receive, what it does with that information, and which choices remain with you. The site does not host Orange County deeds, voter files, court records, vital certificates, or library collections.

Data You Give Us Directly

If you use a search widget, the name, phone number, or address you enter is sent to the third-party provider that operates that result tool. Mission Viejo Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those form entries in its own content system. If you email us, we receive the information in your message and use it to answer or route your question.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our hosting environment may record ordinary server-log data such as an IP address, browser type, page request, and timestamp. Aggregate review helps keep the pages available and shows which reference topics are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when a provider uses them.

How We Use Information

Messages are used to reply, correct a broken reference, or understand a site problem. Aggregate technical information is used for security, maintenance, and broad usage trends. We do not use a message to assemble a resident profile, and we do not sell a private message as a resident record.

Links to Outside Websites

Pages link to Orange County, Mission Viejo, California, federal, library, archive, and search-provider websites. Those destinations have their own privacy practices. A link can send information to its destination when a reader opens a portal or submits a form, so review that custodian’s notice before entering personal data.

Who May See Your Data

Our hosting, security, analytics, and search-tool providers may process technical data or form entries as needed to operate their services. We may disclose a message when required by law, to protect the service, or to respond to a credible safety issue. We do not provide a private email message to a government office merely because it mentions a person or address.

How We Protect Information

Access to site operations is limited to what is needed for maintenance. No security system is perfect, and an outside search provider has its own controls. Do not send a full birth date, driver license number, Social Security number, voter credentials, sealed case details, or other sensitive material through ordinary contact email.

Visitors Under 18

The site is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly ask children to create an account or submit personal information. If a parent or guardian believes a child sent information, use the Contact page so the message can be reviewed and removed from our mailbox where possible.

Your California Data Rights

The California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq., gives qualifying consumers rights to know, delete subject to exceptions, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, use Global Privacy Control, limit certain sensitive-data uses, and receive equal treatment. These rights concern data held by a covered business, not the deletion of an original deed, court file, voter record, vital certificate, or city record held by its custodian.

California’s Delete Act and SB 362 created the DROP request at privacy.ca.gov/drop. The research notes one free deletion or no-sale request to more than 500 registered brokers after encrypted-profile and residency verification, with broker obligations beginning August 1, 2026. That process does not erase Orange County or Mission Viejo originals.

Because this site keeps very little, a request usually means searching the contact mailbox and available server-log systems for the period that can be reached. Use the Contact page. Requests about a California Public Records Act record belong with the custodian under Government Code sections 7920.000 et seq.

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this policy when the site, search tools, or legal requirements change. The newest version will appear here with its updated date or wording. Continuing to use the reference after an update means the revised policy applies to later use.
