Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of Mission Viejo Residents Directory. By opening or using the reference, you accept these conditions. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site and contact the official custodian for the record you need.

1. What This Reference Is

Mission Viejo Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public-record portals, indexes, archives, and directory collections connected with Mission Viejo, Orange County, and California. It hosts no government roll, deed, court file, vital certificate, or library volume, and it is not affiliated with a government agency, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the pages and linked resources only for lawful purposes. You may not use them or any result reached through them to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person.
  • Locate a person who is protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, impersonation, or another offense.
  • Make a decision regulated by the FCRA, including credit, employment, housing, tenant, or insurance decisions.
  • Scrape, republish, or copy the reference at scale without permission.
  • Interfere with the site, its security, or another user’s access.

3. No Consumer Report

The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. Its pages and any linked search-tool result are not a consumer report. They may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. Outside Links

Links may lead to Orange County, Mission Viejo, California, federal, library, archive, or third-party services. Those sites set their own terms, fees, privacy rules, content, and availability. A link does not create an endorsement, partnership, or guarantee by Mission Viejo Residents Directory.

5. No Warranties

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise that a page, fee, portal, link, coverage date, office detail, or record description is accurate, complete, current, or available. A custodian’s current rule controls when it differs from a page here.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this site or an outside resource. This includes a decision, contact, request, fee, or action based on a record found through the reference.

7. Your Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorney fees, that results from your unlawful use of the site, misuse of a linked record, or violation of these terms.

8. Original Site Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page and quote a short excerpt with attribution. Full-page republication, systematic copying, and commercial scraping are not permitted without written consent.

9. Changes to Terms

Terms may be revised by posting a new version on this page. The revised language applies to use after posting. Continued use of the reference after a change indicates acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Access Restrictions

We may block or limit access when a user violates these terms, attacks the service, copies content at scale, or uses the reference to harass or harm. A restriction may occur without advance notice when needed to protect the service or a person.

11. California Law

California law governs these terms, without applying conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act is codified at Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000. California consumer privacy rights are addressed in the California Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq. Those statutes govern custodians and covered businesses as applicable; they do not make this private reference the custodian of a Mission Viejo or Orange County record.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to operate. The invalid provision should be limited or replaced only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Questions about an original deed, case, certificate, voter record, permit, or archive item belong with its custodian.
